We never played live or recorded anything professionally though. The first band I sang in was a hardrock outfit called Spitfire. Actually my sister and me were singing at home together with our dad already in the mid 70s. A couple of years later I started to listen to Motörhead and Venom, and after that, I was only looking for faster and more brutal bands all the time (Destruction, Slayer, Exodus, Possessed, Celtic Frost.). Martin in his own words: ”I started to listen to hardrock in the late summer of 1980, when I heard the album ”Highway to Hell” for the first time, and AC/DC also became my first favourite band. Martin has been singing in a couple of bands after leaving Protector in 1989: the project-band R.A.U. He lives in Stockholm with his wife and two sons, Magne and Aron (born in 2011). Right now its alot of The Beatles and punkrock.” - After leaving Protector, Martin finished his ”Zivildienst” and worked in a bank for about five years, before moving to his mothers homecountry Sweden in 1995. I use to listen to almost the same music/ bands that I did listen to as a kid. When it comes to gigs with (The) Protector(s) I think it was the Chris Witchunter memorial gig, that was most memorable for me. In 2005 I got a phonecall from my bandcollegue in Mastema, Carl-Gustav Karlsson, and he asked me if I would be intrested in playing guitar with him, Matte and Martin in a Protector coverband. So it was just to start saving money all over again for me. My life was complete when i realised that you need an amplifier and a distortion pedal to make it sound cool. Played on a crappy acoustic once a while until I got enough money to buy an electric guitar. I started to play guitar when I was about eight years old. Saw some music videos that I thought were really cool! As far as I can recall, my first favorite band was Iron Maiden. Micke in his own words: ”I think I was about five or six years old when i discovered Heavy Metal. When he's not bending the strings in Protector, he's playing guitar in the Rock'n'Roll band Rawhide. Protector - The Protector Story from 1986 until today Part 11 (VIII) – The bandmembers Uddevalla-born Michael, who also was a member of Martin Missy & The Protectors 2006-2011 had, before he joined The Protectors, been playing guitar in Mastema, Sadistic Grimness and Bestial Mockery.
